Funeral services for Geneva Louise Looney, 84, of Sparta were held Oct. 24 in the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Jordan Looney and Bro. Paul Taylor officiated, with burial following at Johnsons Chapel Cemetery.

She passed away Oct. 20 at Saint Thomas Baptist DeKalb.

She was affiliated with the Free Will Baptist Church, and a retired waitress with Hillcrest Restaurant.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Looney; parents, Marion and Clayta Cashdollar Hudgens.

She is survived by two sons, Dale (Talitha) Looney of Sparta and Donald (Angie) Looney of Smithville; one daughter, Gail (Denny) Young of McMinnville; six grandchildren, Katelyn Looney of Sparta, Jordan (Scarlett) Looney of California, Brooklyn (Aaron) Shirah of Smithville, Heather (Adam) Poole of McMinnville, Misty Shehane of Smithville and Josh (Stephanie) Young of McMinnville; nine great-grandchildren also survive.
