Funeral services for Gentry Carmon Patterson, 79, of Smithville were held on April 7, 2016 at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Kenneth Clayton officiated with burial following at Banks Cemetery.

He passed away April 4 at NHC Health Care of Smithville.

He was self-employed, a Christian, and served in the National Guard and was a member of the VFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Mai Clark Patterson; two sisters, Erma Underwood and Opal Hale; one brother, Doris Patterson.

He is survived by a daughter, Crystal and Mike Cummings of CA; step-children, Terry Cassity of Smithville and Nancy Gail Garfinkel of Atlanta, GA; brother-in-law, Joe Underwood of Woodbury; special friend and companion, Nancy Cassity of Smithville.

Pallbearers included: Jerry Bluhm, Tim Young, Ed Burk, Danny Hale, Burt Silcox, and Mark Garfinkel.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville were in charge of the arrangements.
