Gradie Bond Gribble, age 93, of Smithville passed away Sunday morning, August 29, 2021 at her residence.
She was born October 16, 1927 to her parents, the late Johnny William and Bertie Sue Atnip Bain. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Garrison Lee Bond and Clifford Gribble; daughter, Gradie Lee Hernandez; son, Joe Bond; two sons-in-law, Rickey Stanley and John Hernandez; siblings, Bernice Bain, Flossie Linder, Troy Bain, Alton Bain, Mai Bain, J.E. Bain and Honest Bain.
Ms. Gradie was a member of the Bethlehem Community Church. She was a caregiver, babysitter, took in and raised three of her nephews and was a homemaker. As long as she was able, she loved working in her flowers.
She leaves to cherish her memory, four children, Danny Bond (Susan Johnson) of Dowelltown, Linda (Richard) Gonzales of Texas, Johnny Bond (Shannon) of Utah and Kathy Stanley (Danny Martin) of Smithville; daughter-in-law, Beatrice Bond of Missouri; 16 grandchildren, Andrea' (Jason) Isaac, Johnathon Hernandez, Amy Bond, Phillip (Maria) Bond, Andy Bond, Nicholas (Lizbette) Bond, Jacob (Trista) Bond, Christopher (Jennifer) Gonzales, Ashley Gonzales, Brooke Bond, Sara Paulk, Shawnee Bond, Garrison Bond, Matthew Bond, Angela (Joe) O'Connell, Rickey (Jessica) Stanley; 22 great-grandchildren, Arianna, Jennya, June, Madison, Piper, Natalie, Garret, Keaton, Logan, Danica, Michael, Lettie, Grant, Hudson, Genevieve, Adalynn, Scarlett, Reanna, Faithann, Jolynn, Chelsie and Lily; special nieces, Peggy Hensley and Helen Holler; special caregivers, Rita Matthews, Evelyn Young, Mary McCoy; a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Friday, September 3, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Donald Owens and Michael Hale officiating with burial will following in Whorton Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Johnathon Hernandez, Phillip Bond, Nicholas Bond, Jacob Bond, Joe O'Connell, and Rickey Stanley. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Chris Gonzales, Andy Bond, Jason Isaac, Logan Bond, Garrison Bond, and Matthew Bond.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
