Luna
Guy "Jr" Luna, age 80, of Sparta passed Tuesday evening July 26 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Jr was born February 12, 1936 in White County to the late William Ernest & Lucille Turner Luna. He was a jack of all trades, most notably as a heavy equipment operator but he started his work career as a logger at the Luna family sawmill.
He was the former owner of Sligo Marina for 35 years, a farmer and land developer. Jr. was an antique and antique car enthusiast.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his daughter Guylene Luna Vinson; brothers William Oakley Luna, Charles M. Luna and Leslie E. Luna.
Survivors include his wife Joanne Carter Luna; Granddaughter: Myka Luna Franklin and husband Ronald; Great-grandchild: Charis Franklin; Brother: B.K. Luna and wife Jo; Sisters: Edna "Neve" Rhoton and Virginia "Midge" Taylor; Sisters-in-law: Alfidene Luna and Pearl Luna; Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were conducted at11 am Friday, July 29 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. With burial following at Plainview Cemetery at Cassville. Roy Terry and David Copeland officiated.
Derrick Hutchings, Stephen Luna, Tony Luna, Chris Luna, Darryl Adcock and Michael Lynn Luna will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearer is Gary Luna
Hunter Funeral Home, was in charge of the arrangements.
