Haley Jewel House, age 86, passed away Monday August 16, 2021 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital.
Born April 1, 1930 into the family of Condell and Lillian Close House. She was the eighth child of thirteen children. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brother, Fred Dawson House that was killed in action in World War II, two other brothers, James Earl as a baby and one stillborn, Robert Lee House; sisters, Minnie Frances Miller, Drucy Mai Midgett, Martha Lee Lamberson, Evelyn Nokes and Ova Lorene Campbell.
She was a member of Dale Ridge Baptist Church and worked at the Rubber Plant in Lebanon where she retired from in the mid 90's. She was never married.
She is survived by one sister, Mary Louise House, a special needs sister that Ms. House cared for the last 40 years; brothers, Billy Freeman (Susan) House of Dowelltown, Leland Carter (Sue) House of Alexandria, and Douglas Patton (Dinah) House of Liberty; several nieces and nephews also survive.
A public graveside service was held Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Gordonsville Cemetery with Bro. Donald Owens officiating
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.
