Haskell Martin, 76, of Smithville died Saturday at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

 

He served eight years in the National Guard, and he was an avid fisherman.

 

Martin was also a member of the Baptist Tabernacle Church and foreman with Jewell Hale Construction.

 

The funeral was held Monday, May 30 at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Darrell Cantrell, Bro. Martin Bell, and Bro. Garry McBride officiated, with burial following in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

 

Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Treva Hibdon Martin; two sisters, Judy Ann Martin and Evelyn Sue Bell Jones. Survivors include a daughter, Debbie and husband Tim Staley. Two granddaughters, Kesha and husband Chase Bradford and Kiley Staley all of Smithville. A sister, Nadean and husband Kenneth Cantrell Brown. Brothers, Ollis Ray and wife Mary Frances Martin, Douglas Lee and wife Carol Martin, and Otis Haskell, Jr. and wife Sylvia Martin all of McMinnville.

 

Pallbearers included; Hunter Pack, Patrick and P. J. Ray, Jamie and Connor Adcock, Stanley Martin, Greg Hibdon, and Benjamin Cantrell.

 

 

 

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, was in charge of the arrangements.
