Hazel Dean Thweatt Reagh, age 85, of DeKalb County, Jefferson Community, died peacefully and serenely on Thursday. January 20th, 2022 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. 

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Reagh; her parents, Jess and Jimmie West Thweatt; and by siblings Charlotte, Leonard, Wayne and Cathy. 

 She was a homemaker.  Hazel had a big heart and often exhibited acts of love, kindness and caring.  She could not say no to an animal in need and took great joy in feeding and caring for abandoned cats, birds and a pig.  She enjoyed the earth, nature and gardening and expressed her faith and spirituality and love of God through her love of the beauty of nature.  She loved her family and friends, loved to read and cook and was always there for her husband, children and family. 

 She is survived by sister, Joan Ellen Thweatt Tyler of Holly Springs, Mississippi; daughter, Doris Lee Reagh Faust of Memphis; son, Kenneth Dean Reagh of Jefferson; grandson, Charles Bryan Cunningham of Memphis; great-granddaughter, Harper Faith Cunningham of Memphis; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

 The family has honored her request to be cremated and services will be held at a later date, which will be announced.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the DeKalb Animal Coalition, in memory of Mrs. Hazel. 

 DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, is in charge of the arrangements.
