Hazel Stanley, age 83, of Smithville passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021 at her residence.  

 

She was born November 20, 1937 to her parents, the late Roy and Mary Davenport Hullett.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Stanley; father of her children, O. L. Stanley; three brothers, Jimmy, Mack and Alton Hullett; three sisters, Clara Mae Hullett and Aline Farless.  

 

She was a Baptist and a retired factory worker.

 

Ms. Hazel is survived by three children, Donnie Stanley (Kathy) of Sparta, Brenda (Jeff) Taylor of Smithville and Sandy Atnip of Smithville; 10 grandchildren, Donnie (Sherry) Stanley, Jr., Tonyia (Jimmy) Sparks, Colleen (David) Clary, Matt (Jessica) Stanley, Katrena (Greg) Miller, Karen (Tim) France, David (Susan) Taylor, Ricky Atnip, Jr., Brandon Atnip and Christopher Atnip; 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren sister, Faye Smith of Alexandria; sisters-in-law, Alice Hullett of Dowelltown and  Barbara Ann Tucker of Manchester; several nieces and nephews; special nephew, Bobby Hullett and special family, Ricky Atnip.  

 

Funeral service was held Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating. Burial followed in Odom Cemetery in Auburntown. 

 

Serving as pallbearers were David Taylor, Ricky Atnip, Jr., Matt Stanley, Zachary Sparks, Skyler Sparks, Brandon Atnip, Ricky Atnip, Donnie Stanley, Jr., Preston Taylor and Bradley Pelham

 

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
