Funeral services for Hillard Odene Lawrence, 88, of Watertown were held March 31 at Hunter Funeral Home. Rev. Carl Price and Dr. David Briscoe officiated burial following at Wilson County Memorial Park. 
Mr. Lawrence passed away March 29 at Summit Medical Center. He was born Feb. 23, 1923 in DeKalb County to the late James Leslie Lawrence and Mary Yates Lawrence. He was a graduate of Liberty High School.
Mr. Lawrence was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and WWII. He was retired from Kraft Foods and TRW Ross Gear, a member of Comer Lodge No. 417 F&AM for 50 years, and affiliated with Shop Springs Baptist Church.,  
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Granstaff Lawrence of Watertown; sons, Hugh Mathis (Linda) Lawrence of Smithville and Steven Hill (Carol) Lawrence of Chicago, Ill.; stepson, James Robert (Peggy Gabriel) Trammel; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Jimmy Morgan, Jimbo Robertson, Roy Walker, Wilson Cowan, Bobby Fisher, and Eddie Mathis.
 Hunter Funeral Home, Watertown, was in charge of the arrangements.
