Homer Lee Young, 86, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at his home in Woodbury.
He was born in DeKalb County, the son of the late Reece Young and Lillian Arnold Young Rogers.
Homer was a member of the Baptist church. He was a hard worker and had worked several jobs in his life some including sawmills, drilling wells and making rocking chairs for 15 years. He also worked at LaVergne Co-Op for 10 years and retired after 25 years with Cummings Signs where he was a welder. Homer loved horseback riding and being outdoors. Above all he loved his family and enjoyed spending his time with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reece Young and Lillian Arnold Young Rogers, daughter, Belinda Young, brother, Jimmy Young, sister and brother-in-law, Christine & Maxie Paull and Brother-in-law Dwayne Prater.
Mr. Young is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judy Witty Young; son, Scottie Lee Young; grandchildren, Jennifer, Cory and Cody Young; and siblings, Reba Prater and Doug Young all of Woodbury. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside service was held Friday, February 18, 2022 at Amity Cemetery with Bro. Greg Mitchell officiating. Woodbury Funeral Home, Woodbury, was in charge of the arrangements. Smithville Review(Smithville, Tenn.)
