Funeral services for Hoyt Caldwell, 68, of Smithville were held April 14 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Michael Hale officiated with burial following at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Caldwell passed away April 11 at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was self-employed and affiliated with the Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roscoe and Beulah Redmon Caldwell; first wife Martha Caldwell; a brother Carl Caldwell; and a sister Joyce Caldwell.
Survivors include his wife Jeanine Cook Caldwell of Smithville; a son Daniel Caldwell of New Jersey; step-children Brenda (Arthur) Aguilera of Chicago, Ill., Randy (Debbie) Gregory of Westmoreland, Joy (Charlie) Parker of Smithville and Jill (Mark) McSparren of Rhome, Texas; sisters Carolyn and Henrietta Caldwell, both of Smithville, Charlotte (Hank) Ballew of Dubai, U.A.E.; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Adam Hobbs, Josh Hobbs, Greg Hobbs, Charlie Parker, Mark McSparren and Quentin McSparren. Logan Ellis served as a honorary pallbearer.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
