On Monday June 1, 2020 Jack E. Puckett, loving husband and father, passed away peacefully at his daughter's home in Hermitage at the age of 97.
Jack was born Oct. 24, 1922 in Smithville. He was a WWII veteran serving in the Pacific and a member of Lincoya Hills Baptist Church. He was employed by Southern Machinery Company for 63 years.
Granddaughter Becky wrote "We love and miss you Papa Jack. I know you haven’t quit playing that piano since you got to heaven." His granddaughter Jennifer wrote "I'll forever miss his stories of WWII and his life in Smithville before the war, the echoes of music notes as he played the piano so beautifully, his love for food and gardening, and how deeply he loved...."
He is preceded in death by his first wife of 25 years, Michelle Kimbrel, who was the mother of his four children, and his second wife of 30 years, Frances Tramel. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Margaret.
He is survived by children Charles Puckett, Christopher Michael Puckett, and Cathie Bennett, step-children Gene Tramel, Karen Barth and Terry Tramel and many grandchildren and step- grandchildren.
A private graveside service was held at Hermitage Memorial Gardens on June 3, 2020 where family members shared loving memories and said their goodbyes.
Hunter Funeral Home, Watertown, was in charge of the arrangments.
