Funeral services for Mr. Jack L. Turner, 80, of Dowelltown were held March 29 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Matt Long and Bro. Michael Hale officiated with burial following at Salem Cemetery. 
Mr. Turner passed away March 26 at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and taught at DeKalb County Schools for 20 years. 
Mr. Turner was a member of the Smithville First Baptist Church, attended Dowelltown United Methodist Church, member of the DeKalb County Retired Teachers Associations and a member of the V.F.W.   
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike L. and Weltha Era Garner Turner; sister, Mary Jane Turner; two brothers, Mike and Jimmy Turner; and nephew, Neal Reeves.
Survivors include his sisters, Joann Reeves of Louisville, Ky. and Sue Braswell of Cookeville; brothers, Mike Turner and Thomas Eddie Turner both of Smithville; nieces and nephews, Andra, Michael Braswell, Debra Ritter, Rick Braswell, Teresa Hutchings, Janet McDonald, and Tommy Turner, Jr.
The Military Honor Guard served as the pallbearers.
Donations may be made to either Smithville First Baptist or Dowelltown United Methodist Church.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, LLC, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
