Funeral services for James Albert Walden, 72, of Alexandria were held Oct. 8 at Anderson Funeral Home.

 

Phil Hancock officiated, with burial following in Salem Cemetery.

 

He passed away Oct. 5 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.

 

He was born in Dowelltown, a Baptist, a security employee, a Sergeant 1st Class in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Ela Mitchell Woodside Walden; daughter, Karen Leslie Walden; brothers, Kenneth Walden, and Robert H. (Bob) Walden.

 

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carolyn Schmidt Walden of Alexandria; sisters, Helen and husband, Wayne Cripps of Alexandria, Mary Susan and husband, Phillip George of Smithville, and Peggy Stamps of Dowelltown; uncle, Van and wife, Billie Woodside of Dowelltown; sisters-in-law, Marie Walden of Smithville, and Jackie Walden of Michigan; nieces and nephews also survive.

 

Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria was in charge of the arrangements
