Mr. James Alford King, age 74, of Dowelltown, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 30, 2021 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital in Smithville.
James was self-employed tire shop worker and mowed lawns.
He was born February 7, 1947 to his parents, the late John R. and Myrtle Sanders King. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Tina Phillips and several siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bobbie King of Dowelltown; two daughters, Patricia Butcher of Dowelltown and Peggy King of Smithville; five grandchildren, Joshua Crook, Haley Butcher, James King, Jordan Crook and E.J. Enlow; six great-grandchildren, Paisley Crook, Noah Crook, Emma Crook, Addison King, Reanna King and Millie King; one sister, Tennie Rigsby of Chattanooga and several friends.
The family has chosen a direct cremation and a service will be held later. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses, in memory of Mr. King.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
