Mathis

James Douglas “Shorty” Mathis age 50 of Smithville and formally of Auburntown passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 at his residence. 

Jimmy was born January 21, 1966 to his parents Joseph Edward Doggett and Betty Lee Smith Mathis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Linda Paitsel and Debbie Nowlan. 

He was a Baptist and Disabled.  Survivors include 1 brother, Richard (Pat) Wilt of Smithville; 3 nephews and 1 niece, Richard H. Wilt, Pamela Wilt Haney and Matthew and Joseph Paige; several great-nieces and nephews; cousin, Jack (Kathy) Hays of Auburntown; special dog, Goldie and many friends. 

There will be a graveside memorial service 1:PM Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Prosperity Cemetery on Hwy 96 in Auburntown.  

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville were in charge of the arrangements.
