Funeral services for James E. Braswell, 78, of Smithville were held May 10 at the chapel of Love Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Jeff Armstrong and Brad Long officiated with burial following at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Braswell passed away May 8 at his residence. He was the owner/operator of J&J Game Room and was a former nurseryman and was affiliated with Smithville Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joann Braswell; parents Lloyd and Lillian Braswell; a brother Truman Braswell; and a sister Ellen Young.
Survivors include his five sons David (Brenda) Braswell of Church Hill; Jerry (Carolyn) Braswell of Dibrell, Randy Braswell of Smithville, Johnny (Maria) Braswell of Antioch, and Michael Braswell of Smithville; four daughters Lisa (Terry) Pease of Smithville, Teresa (Brad) Long of Cookeville, Stephanie Vanattta of Smithville and Kelsey Braswell of Smithville; grandchildren Crystal, Holly, Chris and Justin Braswell, Shondra Smith, Skylar, Tiffany and Hannah Pease, Kayla and Bradley Long, Debbie Luna, Gary Hale, Brent Estes and Kim Roller and Jimmy Pirtle; great-grandchildren Gavin Braswell, Issac and Ian Smith, Jordan Roller, Missha Taylor, McKynsie Roller and Ryan Taylor; a brother Charles (Elizabeth) Braswell of Ringgold, Ga.; special friends Garry and Chrissy Young, Debra Anderson, Jim Sexton and Caris Hospice nurses and caregivers.
Pallbearers included Chris and Justin Braswell, Bradley and Brad Long and Skylar and Terry Pease.
Serving as a honorary pallbearer Garry Young.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
