Funeral services for James Harold (Tuffy) George, 81, of McMinnville (Lucky Community) were held Feb. 22 at the Chapel of McMinnville Funeral Home.  Bro. Donald Owens and Bro. Michael Carr officiated, with burial following at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
He passed away Feb. 20 at his residence.
He was born January 10, 1933, in DeKalb County, was a retired letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, a farmer, and a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, teacher, and served on various church committees.
Mr. George was preceded in death by parents James Andrew and Mary Cripps George; sister, Vernie Mae George; brothers, Ollie and John Robert George.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Jo Sanders George; daughters, Karon (David) Wood, and Beth (Mike) Hamby; sister, Rebecca Vaughn; brother, Hank George all of McMinnville; grandchildren, Derrick (Holly) Wood, Jason (Suzie) Wood, Steven (Stephanie) Hamby, and Laurel Beth Hamby; great-grandchildren, Dillan, and Alexus Wood, Kailey, Kody, and Kolton Wood, Austin and Tiffany Cantrell, and Abigail Hamby; several nieces and nephews also survive.
McMinnville Funeral Home, McMinnville, was in charge of arrangements.
