Funeral services for James Howard Adcock, 86, a long-time resident of Detroit, Mich. and a native of the Jefferson Community of DeKalb County, were held July 4 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Dwight Knowles officiated with burial following in Jefferson Cemetery.   
Mr. Adcock passed away June 29 at Toledo Hospital, Toledo, Ohio. He was retired from the maintenance Department of Transportation in Detroit, a member of the Masons and of the Baptist faith.   
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nagy Adcock; a son, Troy Lee Adcock; parents, Milburn Alton and Candis Pink Cantrell Adcock. 
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Annette (Gary) Lohr of Toledo, Ohio; two step-sons, Douglas Barnette of Texas and Eddie Nagy of Toledo, Ohio; four grandchildren, Laura Nagy, Denver James Logan Crane, Riley Candis and Danyan Grace Lohr, all of Toledo, Ohio; a sister, Olene Stone of Grayson, Ga.; brother, Woody (Carolyn) Adcock of Smithville.
Serving as pallbearers were Gary Lohr, Ed Nagy, Denver Crane, Farris Thweat, Grady Cope and David Haggard.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
