James Ray “Wildhoss” Wimberly, 77 passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016. 

 

He was a native of Cannon Co.

 

He is survived by his daughters, Michelle Bailey (Shane Gannon) of Woodbury and Jamie Wright of Smithville; Grandchildren, Natasha (Blake) Parker, Natalie (Jason) Sanders, Seth & Cole Wright; Great Grandchildren, Kurstin Warrick, Karoline Sanders & Wyatt Coffman; Brothers, Darce (Bernice) Wimberly & Glen (Rhonda) Wimberly all of Woodbury; Sister-in-law, Baunita Wimberly of Woodbury. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

 

Mr. Wimberly was the son of the late Clyde Anderson Wimberly and Pearl Mathis Wimberly. 

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings and their spouses, Mattie Lee (Roy) Gannon, Mildred (Ray) Fann, Paul (Shirley) Wimberly, Joe Wimberly, Ruth (Wayne) Lefevers; Son-in-law, Anthony Wright; Nephews, Jeff Wimberly and Russell (Sharon) Fann.

 

James was a member of the Church of Christ and was a heavy equipment operator and a truck driver. He was also a horse trainer and farrier.  James was a member of the Cannon Co. Walking Horse Association, National Spotted Saddle Horse Association and Spotted Saddle Horse Breeders & Exhibitors Association.

 

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 26, 2016 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Bro. Herb Alsup officiated. Interment followed in Riverside Gardens.

 

Nephews served as pallbearers. 

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cannon Co. Walking Horse Assoc.

 

 

 

Woodbury Funeral Home, was in charge of the arrangements.
