James Wilson Young

James Wilson Young, 82, of Smithville, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at NHC of Smithville.

He was a retired maintenance worker from the Kingston Timer Plant. James was a member of the Mt. View The Baptist Church.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Wilson and Lillie Mai Taylor Young; First Wife and Mother of his Children, Marie Haggard Young; Sister, Helen Lee; and Brother, Eddie Wayne Young. He is survived by one son, James Ronny (Nancy) Young of Smithville; one daughter, Kim (Ratchet) Banks of Smithville; grandchildren, Aaron (Sara) Young of Smithville, Kara (Robert) Griffin of Pensacola, FL, Alyssa (Daniel) Leslie of Smithville; special grandson, Morgan Smithson of Smithville; great grandchildren, Luke Young and Lela Young of Smithville; sisters, Carolyn (Eli) Whitley of Mt. Juliet, TN, Judy Rodgers of Hendersonville, TN; brothers-in-law, Rick Lee of Smithville and Bobby (Emma) Haggard of Lebanon, TN; and sister-in-law, Frances Haggard of Nashville, TN.

Funeral service was held Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020 at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Dennis Wood officiated with burial in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers were Aaron and Dwain Young, Chris and Morgan Smithson, Byron Poss, Ben Felton and Josh Hale.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Young Bend Cemetery Fund.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
