Funeral services for Jane Alexander, 85, of Smithville, were held Nov. 21 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Dan Gulley and Bro. Tim Woodward officiated with burial following in Riverside Cemetery in Woodbury.   
Mrs. Alexander passed away Nov. 18 at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a bookkeeper for Smithville Motors, in the BMPW Club and affiliated with the Church of Christ. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Nellie Elrod; husband, John Alexander; brother, Dorris Elrod; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Robert and Jean Alexander, both of Smithville; brothers-in-law, Gene Mitchell and Ed Neely, of Murfreesboro; and a great-nephew, David Wayne Alexander, of Smithville.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sandye and Steve Hays, of Smithville; two grandchildren, Brett and Tara Hays, of Murfreesboro and Shea and Derrick Colwell, of Smithville; four great-grandchildren, Ashley and Amber Hays, of Murfreesboro and Erin and Emme Colwell, of Smithville; four sisters-in-law, Hattie Elrod, of Porterfield, Jean (Robert) Drewry, of Murfreesboro, Waldean Mitchell and Hazel Neely of Murfreesboro; and several special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Serving as pallbearers were Bobby Lee, Derrick Colwell, Tommy Alexander, Jim Alexander, Rob Alexander, Gary Rains, Daniel Alexander and Caleb Gash.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
