Funeral service for Jane Moss Cantrell, age 75, of Smithville was held November5, 2017 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Michael Hale and Bro. John Carpenter officiated with burial following in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Cantrell passed away November 2, 2017 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. She was the co-owner of Cantrell's Furniture. Granny Jane and Poppy Jerry was also a part of the original founders of DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Granny Jane, as she was affectionately known, was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a woman that was always giving of herself and time to help others. Jane was a member of the Smithville First United Methodist Church.
Jane was born May 16, 1942 to her parents, the late William Henry and Lula R. Moss.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jerry Lee Cantrell; three children, Shannon (Jeanine) Cantrell, Scott (Tammy) Cantrell, Stacey Cantrell all of Smithville; five grandchildren, Chase (Micaela) Cantrell, Macey (Jerimey) Howard, Tiffany (Chris) Odom, Taneah Cantrell and Seth Cantrell; four great-grandchildren, Aila and Ashtyn Odom, Brody and Nyla Jane Odom; step step-great-grandchildren, Abegayle and Kaia Howard; sister, Janis Moorehead of Smithville, one niece, Roann (Jay) Romines. Special caretaker and friend Sherry Brannon and special friend "Einstein."
Pallbearers included Chase Cantrell, Seth Cantrell, Jay Romines, Chris Odom, Bo McCracken, Bobby Agee, Terry Robinson, and Jeff Cawthorn.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, TN., is in charge of the arrangements.
