Janice Carolyn Blish, age 65, of Smithville passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at St. Thomas West Hospital. 

She was born November 27, 1958 to her parents, Dorothy and the late Melvin McCormick.  In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Atlantis Dodson. 

Janice was a retired shirt factory worker. 

She is survived by her husband, Larry Blish of Smithville; daughter, Stephanie Dodson of McMinnville; five grandchildren, Kelsi Glenn and Allissa Loring both of Smithville, Selena Cole of McMinnville, Leeann Brandon of Manchest and Zoe Dodson of McMinnville; four great-grandchildren, Kailee Hoover, Lillie Lee, Amelia Loring and Bellamy Loring; mother, Dorothy McCormick of Smithville. 

Funeral service was held Friday, July 19, 2024 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial followed in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Josh Lee, Steve Loring, Travis Dodson, Jimmy Poss, Kevin Lee and Julie Farley.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
