Funeral services for Janice Stone Davis, 89, of Smithville were held on January 21 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel.

 

Bro. David Mahan and Bro. Michael Hale officiated with burial following in Griffith Cemetery.

 

She passed away January 19 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital.

 

She was born August 6, 1926 to her parents, the late Frank L. and Lula M. Bass Stone.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Solon Davis; one daughter, Betsy Lynam; two sons, Billy Joe and Jimmy Wayne Davis; one grandson, Shane Wyatt Davis; sister, Anna Laura Young; sister-in-law, Tincy Stone.

 

Ms. Janice was a member of Whorton Spring Baptist Church, Eatern Star and a homemaker.

 

Survivors include; one son, Michael (Cindy) Davis of Nolensville; five grandchildren, Nicole (Mike) Bird of Nashville, Mark (Roxie) Lynam of Murfreesboro, Tisha (Scott) Rowland of Nashville, Chrissy Davis of Nashville, and Adam Davis of Cookeville; 10 great-grandchildren; Son-in-law, Ernie Lynam of Smithville; two sisters, Mary (Jerry) Bailey of Alexandria and Bobbie (Charles) Fite of Lebanon; three brothers, Billy (Bonnie) Stone of Lafayette, Ernest Stone, and Joe Stone both of Smithville; special niece, Melinda Tallent and special caregiver, Leata Chapman.

 

 

 

Pallbearers included; Kenneth Young, Mark Lynam, Mike Bird, Phillip Young, Shawn Bird, and Adam Davis.

 

 

 

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville was in charge of the arrangements.
