Jason Daniel Tallent, age 38, passed away at his residence on July 14, 2021.

 Mr. Tallent worked for the City of Smithville.

 He was born November 3, 1982 to his mother, Hanneke Beets of Netherlands and his father, the late Odie Harrison Tallent.  In addition to his father he was preceded in death by grandparents, Pearl Hutchings and Odie Brown Tallent; grandfather, Anton Arend Cornelis Beets "Opa". 

He is survived by one son, Nicholas Hayden Tallent of Murfreesboro; mother, Hanneke Beets of Netherlands; grandmother, Gijsbert Everdine Hendrika Cornelli Sloots Overeem "Oma"; step-mother, Patricia Tallent of Smithville; brother, Josh (Jennifer) Tallent of Smithville; step-brothers, Javon Ross Hendrixson of Smithville, Louis Taft Hendrixson, III, of Smithville; step-sister, Jill Marie Goneke of Smithville; niece and nephews, Nicholas Anthony Pendleton, Brantley Grayson Goneke, and Paris Monroe Grigsby; several aunts and uncles also survive.

 A Memorial Service was held Saturday, July 24, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with family eulogizing Jason and burial of his cremains followed in Old Bybee Cemetery. 

 DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.
