Alford
Jean Alford, age 85, of Manchester passed away Saturday morning, May 14 at her residence.
She was born September 29, 1930 in DeKalb County to the late John Robert and Bonnie Martin Johnson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Ella Murphy, Ova Mathis, Jessie Bauman, Lucille Brandon, Susie Farris; six brothers, John Estes, Samuel Estes, Robert Estes, Bill Estes, Frank Estes and Jewell Lawson; son-in-law, John Wesley Alford.
Ms. Jean was a Pentecostal and a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Leonard Alford of Manchester; one son, John Robert Alford of Manchester; two daughters, Bonnie Alford (Jerry Freeze) of Manchester, Linda Meyers Alford of Smithville; three sisters, Pattie Johnson and Christine Murphy both of Liberty, Eula (Robert) Presley of McMinnville; one brother, Toy (Faye) Lawson of Liberty; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 16 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Wallace Caldwell officiated, with burial following in the Welker Cemetery in Manchester.
Pallbearers included; Phillip Estes, Mike Alford, Clyde Alford, Wesley N. Alford, Phillip Hurst, and Ritchie Arnolds.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.
