Funeral services, for Jean Hooper Clendenon, 68, of Smithville, were held June 19 at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. David Mahan and Bro. Lash Rice officiated with burial following at DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
Ms. Clendenon passed away June 17 at NHC Healthcare in Smithville. She was retired from TRC in Smyrna and was affiliated with Whorton Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Brownie Clendenon and parents, Charlie Ervin and Mildred Pauline Miller Adcock.
Survivors include her two sons, Billy Jr. and Melissa Hooper and Jeff Hooper; granddaughter, Jessica and Pete Taylor; great-grandson, Aiden Taylor, Bro. Dean and Wanda Adcock all of Smithville; stepson, John Clendenon of McMinnville; stepdaughter, Summer Foster of Woodbury; three step-grandchildren, Cody Clendenon of McMinnville and Seth and Sydney Foster of Woodbury; uncle, James “Doober” and Naomi Miller of Liberty; two aunts, Dorothy Vanatta and Aimee Miller of Smithville; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive; and caregivers at Suncrest and NHC of Smithville.
Pallbearers included Spencer Wallace, McCullough Wallace, David Adcock, Rob Willingham, Michael Braswell, Mark Miller, James Hargrove and Nathan Miller.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Holly Owens, Ashley Hendrix, Jaden Johnson, Eddie Adcock, Alec Winter, and James Young.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
