Former Smith County Trustee, Mrs. Jean Wills Reasonover, 89, of the Sykes Community, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the Carthage Pavilion in Carthage, TN.

 

Mrs. Jean was born November 19, 1926 in Nashville, TN, the daughter of the late: Lillie Parlea Washer and Elmer Thomas Wills. She married J.C. Reasonover on March 13, 1946 and precede her in death February 7, 2003. Mrs. Jean was also preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law, Willene and Teamon Agee. She graduated from Gordonsville High School in 1943. Jean was a member of the Union Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sykes, TN, where she played the piano for forty years and taught Sunday school.

 

Mrs. Jean worked as bookkeeper at the Clerk and Master’s Office, Circuit Court Clerk in Carthage, Circuit Court Clerk in Lebanon, and at Carthage General Hospital. She was elected as Smith County Trustee and served 12 years. After her time in office, Mrs. Jean retired to the family farm.

 

Mrs. Reasonover is survived by sons, Dickie (Janice) Reasonover of Knoxville, TN, Kerry (Laura) Reasonover of Gordonsville, TN, and daughter, Jan Reasonover (Mike Binkley) of Carthage, TN. Grandchildren, Scott Reasonover of Knoxville, TN, Darrien Reasonover of Knoxville, TN, Jeanna Reasonover of Maryville, TN, Kristy Taylor (Kevin) Chastine of Murfreesboro, TN, Brandi Taylor (Derek) Wilson of Maynardville, TTN, and Britney Taylor (Eric) Limpert of Camp Lejeune, NC. Great-grandchildren, Preston Reasonover, Caleb Limpert, Gabe Limpert, Adalyn Chastine, and Briar Wilson. Brother, Doug (Emily) Wills of Nashville, TN.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Reasonover were conducted at the Union Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sykes, TN on Friday, March 11, 2016. Bro. Dennis Croslin and Bro. Charlie Wills officiated with interment following in the Union Hill Cemetery.
