Jean Richardson, 79, of Murfreesboro, passed away Feb. 14. A native of Liberty, she was the daughter of the late Shelia H. and Vernie Lou Hale Parker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Richardson; a son, Shelie Eston Richardson; two brothers, Shelia Jr. and Jackie Parker; and a brother-in-law, Clifton Ferrell.
Funeral services were held Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Dr. Mike Norris and Brother Don Morris officiating. Burial followed in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Richardson is survived by her two daughters, Marcia Richardson of Christiana, and Sherry (Richard) York of Lascassas; grandson, Jacob York of Murfreesboro; two brothers, James (Catherine) Parker of Woodbury and John (Edna) Parker of Liberty and Watertown; four sisters, Jessie Mae Parker Ferrell of Woodbury, Elizabeth Parker (David) Burnette of Readyville, Billie (Glenn) Grizzle of Murfreesboro and Joyce Parker (Jim) Speakman of Murfreesboro; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved Yorkie, Molly.
Mrs. Richardson was a member of Franklin Road Baptist Church. As a child she attended and accepted Christ at Mt. Moriah Church. Mrs. Richardson was an avid gardner and enjoyed softball, sports and was a horse lover. She also held a passion for needlework. She was retired from Chromalox and Alvin C. York VA Medical Center.
Mrs. Richardson’s nephews served as pallbearers.
Woodfin Memorial Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
