Cunningham

Jim Cunningham, Sr., 65, of the Johnson Chapel Community in Sparta died Wednesday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

He was a Baptist and owner of Smithport Cabinet Company.

The funeral was held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home.

Cory Price, John Cunningham, Danny Parker, and Alton Colwell will officiated with burial following in the Old Zion Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Eugene and Pauline Cunningham.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Laverne Luna Cunningham of Sparta. One daughter, Renee Cunningham of Sparta. Three sons, Bruce and Sherrill Cunningham of Smithville, Gene Cunningham, and John and Rebecca Ann Cunningham all of Sparta. Seven grandchildren, Gene Cunningham of Sparta, Traci Cunningham of Smithville, Josh and Amanda Cunningham of Sparta, Rachel Cunningham of Smithville, Kevin Cunningham of Sparta, Chelsie and Kenneth Colwell of Smithville, and Meagan Cunningham of Smithville. Eleven great grandchildren, Skyler, Paityn, Addison, Illa, Gemma, Gabriel, Carsen, Layla, Paisley, Asnley, and baby to be. Three brothers, Lester and Barbara Cunningham of Sparta, George and Martha Cunningham of Smithville, and Robert Cunningham of Sparta, 3 sisters- Janice & Harold Dodson, Linda & Jim Michetti & Treva & David Timmons all of Sparta. Special Friends- Randy Caplinger, Dan Evans, John Daniels, Dan Jose, Dennis Hughes, Skip Dean, Billy Lackey & Harold Lewis Luna.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, was in charge of the arrangements.
