Jo Dean Cathcart, age 92, of the Snow Hill Community and for the last several years, she had resided with her daughter and son-in-law in Murfreesboro. 

She worked as a secretary and then the shirt factory and was a homemaker.   Ms. Jo Dean was a member of the Snow Hill Baptist Church where she served as the Treasurer for many years.  She enjoyed working in her flowers and gardening. 

She was born June 24, 1930, to her parents, the late Clarance Napoleon and Era Sedella Smith Atnip.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Cathcart; daughter, Vivian Ann Cathcart and sister Jo Nell Judkins. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Vicky (Stephen) White of Murfreesboro; two grandchildren, Stephanie (Aaron) Lawrence of Murfreesboro and Daniel (Jessica) White of Springfield; four great-grandchildren, Kirsten and Lucas Averette, Logan and Carly Lawrence; niece, Jackie Ray of Smithville. 

Funeral service was held Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Steve Puckett and Michael Hale officiating and burial followed in Whorton Springs Cemetery. 

Pallbearer included Logan Lawrence, Lucas Averette, James White, John White, Aaron Lawrence, and Daniel White.

In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either the Snow Hill Baptist Church or the Gideon Bible Program, in memory of Ms. Jo Dean. 

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
