Joe I. Taylor, 84, of Smithville went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 7, 2016.

He was born to his parents, Issac and Hattie Jewell Tisdale Taylor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Brothers: Roy, Johnny, Bob and Dan Taylor; Sisters: Myrtle Taylor, Elsie Lynch, Clara Nixon, Onie Durham, Ruby Mullican and Julie Ervin.

Joe was a retired factory worker, self-employed furniture salesman and a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church for 73 years.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Helen Taylor of Smithville; two sisters, Oma Taylor of Smithville, Audrey Snyder of McMinnville; sister-in-law, Hazel Taylor of Smithville; Special niece, Dean (Fred) Judd of Smithville; two Brothers-in-law, Harold (Barbara) Hale, Jimmy (Jacque) Hale both of Smithville; Many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held January 10 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Terry Fesler and Mike Carpenter officiated with burial following in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers included; Carl Nixon, Harold Taylor, Mark Taylor, Craig Hale, Jackie Rigsby, Dennis Hartley, Jerry Bluhm, and Fred Judd.

 

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville was in charge of the arrangements.
