Funeral services for John Martin Malone of Alexandria, 85, were held Nov. 11 at the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home. Bro. Mike Gay and Bro. Lillard Stringer officiated with burial following at New Hope Cemetery North.
Mr. Malone passed away Nov. 8 at a hospital in Nashville after a short illness.
Mr. Malone retired from Ross Gear after 30 years of service and was a lifetime farmer. He was a member and Chairman of Deacons at Malone’s Chapel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny D. and Laura Wills Malone; son, David Lee Malone; brothers, Charlie Gaston Malone and Marlin PA Malone, sisters, Louise Driver and Janie Fuson.
Mr. Malone is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Fuson Malone of Alexandria; Daughter and son-in-law, Deborah (Phil) McCoy of Alexandria; special niece, Denise (Scotty) Barrett of Brush Creek; special nephew, Sam (Nancy) Malone of Brush Creek; sister, Shirley (Robert) Katzenmiller of Alexandria; special great nieces and nephew; Kacie Malone, Abby Malone, Chris Barrett; brother-in-law, Charles Fuson fo McMinnville.
Pallbearers; Phil McCoy, Sam Malone, Scotty Barrett, John David Foutch, Paul Starnes and Tony Nixon.
Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria, was in charge of arrangements.
