John Morgan Hale, 60, of Smithville Tennessee, died Dec. 19, 2019 after a long battle with cancer.
John was a lifelong native of Smithville. He overcame considerable medical challenges early on in his life to become an attendee of Castle Heights Military Academy. He later returned to DeKalb County High School where he lettered for the Tigers in golf and football. In later years, he was a member of the Jaycees, the Rotary Club and the Tennessee State Guard. He was an employee of Federal Mogul for over thirty years. John loved movies and his family. He will be sincerely, deeply missed.
John is predeceased by his father, Dr. Jerre Ray Hale Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Tittsworth Hale; his brother Jay (Kim) Hale of Tulsa Oklahoma; his sister Suzanne (Bo) Barbour of Virginia Beach, Virginia; one nephew, three nieces, numerous great nieces and great nephews, and one great-great niece. He additionally leaves behind a large family of cousins, aunts and uncles.
The funeral will be held privately at the gravesite.
