John Wilson Foster, age 83, of Statesville, formerly of Smithville, passed away at his residence on Wednesday September 27, 2023.

Mr. Foster was affiliated with Smith Fork Baptist Church and Buckners Chapel Methodist Church and worked at Auto Body Work.

He was born July 26, 1940, to his parents the late Alvie Rosco and Mattie Lee Puckett Foster. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Foster; sister, Juanita Redmon; brother, Rosco Foster.

He is survived by children, Tony Foster of Statesville, and Annette Foster of PA; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Hall of Statesville.

Funeral service was held Monday, October 2, 2023, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial followed in Burton-Ponder Cemetery.
