Funeral services for John Lee Alexander, 88, of Smithville were held April 15 at Love-Cantrell Chapel. Bro. Dan Gulley and Bro. Tim Woodward officiated with burial following at Riverside Gardens in Woodbury. 
Mr. Alexander passed away April 13 at NHC Healthcare of Smithville. He was the retired owner of Smithville Motors, a member of Jaycees, and affiliated with Smithville Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmus Raymon and Lucille Bragg Alexander; brother, Robert Alexander; sister-in-law, Jean Alexander; two brothers-in-law, Gene Mitchell and Ed Neely; and great-nephew, David Wayne Alexander.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Jane Alexander; daughter, Sandye and husband, Steve, Hays of Smithville; two grandchildren, Brett and wife, Tara, Hays of Murfreesboro and Shea and husband, Derrick, Colwell of Smithville; four great-grandchildren, Ashley and Amber Hays of Murfreesboro and Erin and Emme Colwell of Smithville; three sisters, Jean Drewry, Waldean Mitchell, and Hazel Neely of Murfreesboro; several nieces and nephews; two special nephews, Jimmy Alexander of Cookeville and Tommy Alexander of Smithville.
Pallbearers included Brett Hays, Derrick Colwell, Tommy and Jimmy Alexander, Caleb Gash, Rob and Daniel Alexander, and Bobby Lee.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Thomas Tubbs, Glen Nichols, Jr. and Sr., John Henry Thweatt, Blackie Davis, Clamon Cantrell, Gerald Cripps, Ben Ferguson, Gary Durham, Mike Braswell, Eddie Hobson, Sam Love and Buddy Curtis.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
