Jonathan Scurlock, 32, of Smithville died Monday, December 5, 2016, at Saint Thomas DeKalb Hospital.

 

He was an Assistant Chief of the Short Mountain Fire Department and Rescue Squad for Cannon County.

 

He also worked for Middle Tennessee Natural Gas in Woodbury.

 

The funeral was held Friday at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Dewayne Cornelius officiated with burial following in Banks Cemetery.

He is survived by his parents, Jeff and Debbie Scurlock of Smithville. Sister and sister-in-law, Crystal Scurlock and Dana Holland of McMinnville. Grandmother, Ruth Scurlock of Smithville. Special cousin Claire Caldwell. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and firefighter and rescue squad family.

 

Pallbearers included: Crystal Scurlock, Richard Bagley, Larry Powell, Skylar Daniel, Mike Reedy, Dougie Scurlock, and Michael Underhill.

 

In addition to flowers, make donations in memory of Jonathan to the Short Mountain Fire Department of Cannon County.

 

 

 

Love-Cantrell Funeral, was in charge of the arrangements.
