Joyce E. Tallent age, 75, of Smithville passed away Friday morning April 16, 2021 at NHC of Smithville. 

 Mrs. Tallent was a member of Mt. Pisgah Freewill Baptist Church and she was a homemaker. 

 She was born December 25, 1945 to her parents, the late Melvin and Cecil Trapp Billings.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Lynn Tallent. 

 She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Leonard Tallent of Smithville; two sons, Marty Tallent of Smithville, and Ronald (Andrea) Tallent of McMinnville; grandchildren: Brandon Tallent, Martelia Tallent,  Alex and Aaron Tallent; two uncles, R. V. (Brenda) Billings and Claude Billings both of Johnsons Chapel. 

 Funeral service was held Sunday, April 18, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Earl Langley and Michael Hale officiating. Burial followed in DeKalb Cemetery. 

 Pallbearers included Alex Tallent, Aaron Tallent, RV Billings, Austin Barry, Keith Billings, and Dustin Brown.

 DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.
