Funeral services for Juanita Neal Casey, 87, of Smithville, were held Aug. 29 at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Brother Bratton Tucker and Bro. John Carpenter officiated with the services and Bro. Bratten Tucker brought the eulogy. Burial took place at Whorton Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Casey passed away peacefully at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Casey and eldest son James Casey, both of whom lived in Smithville for part of their lives.
Active in the Community Choir in the early years of the Jamboree, she also had a café in Smithville during the Korean war when her husband served abroad in the U.S. Army.
She was a tireless Christian prayer intercessor and life-long Methodist. She was given to hospitality and devoted to the calling of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
Survivors include her remaining son and daughter. Her son John L. Casey of Orlando, Fla. along with his wife Alicia and their two daughters Shannon Coughlin of Orlando, including her husband David and their two children Ryan and Katherine, and Erin Casey in Denver. Her daughter Beulah Casey along with her husband Steve Joiner and their daughter Casey Keenan Joiner are of Dallas, Texas.
Pallbearers included Shawn Murphy, Pete Belaser, Jewell Murphy, Shannon Cantrell, Jeff James and David Turner.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of the arrangements.
