Kayla Marie Hurst, age 41, of Murfreesboro passed away suddenly Thursday night March 30, 2023, in Murfreesboro. 

She was born March 30, 1982, in Rogersville, TN.  Kayla had worked as a LPN, with T-Mobile and most recent with Healthstream.  She was a loving and devoted mother, daughter and sister.  Kayla was an avid baker and loved to cook, animal lover, colorful hair and enjoyed life. 

She was preceded in death by great-grandmother, Elsie May Neal. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Lucinda Hurst of Murfreesboro; mother and step-father, Melissa and Brett Bishop of Murfreesboro; brother, Lonnie Russell McCloud of Murfreesboro; step-brother and step-sister, Brett Michael Bishop and Amber Rose Hamilton of Clarksville; maternal grandparents, Buford and Hazel Mullican of Dowelltown; niece, Nimue' Grace McCloud; aunts and uncles, Teresa (Don) Bryant of Dowelltown, Tony (Terri) Mullican of Manchester, Christy (Jimmy) Barrett of Dowelltown; cousins, Tara (Matt) Colwell, Chase Bryant and Layla Colwell. 

Funeral service was held Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses or to a local animal shelter. 

DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.
