Kirt Martin

Kirt Leon Martin, 67, of Smithville, formerly of Paris, Illinois, passed away at Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Bowling Green Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

He was a truck driver for Cody Keys Trucking. Kirt loved driving and was proud of having driven trucks since the age of eighteen. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially sporting events, motorcycling, and tractor pulls. He also enjoyed the Queen of Hearts Drawings as well as visiting at the On the Tracks Café. Kirt will be remembered as a friendly and outgoing person who loved spending time with his beloved family and friends.

He was born February 23, 1955, in Paris, the son of Kenneth and Thelma (Ludington) Martin.

Survivors include two children, Corey (Amy) Martin and Leanne (Jerry) Woodfall both of Paris; a brother, Wesley (Lori) Fitzjarrald of Arcadia, Florida; two sisters, Cathy Wilkey of Carmi, Illinois, and Suella Kirkham of Eagle, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Olivia and Case Martin, Kensley Cox, and Max Woodfall all of Paris; two step-grandchildren, Ashton Drake and Darby Robinson both of Paris; his friend and former spouse, Luanne Sinclair of Kansas, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Martin; his mother, Thelma Martin Fitzjarrald; his step-father, Max Fitzjarrald; and two brothers-in-law, Ron Wilkey and Mike Kirkham.

Service celebrating his life will was conducted Friday, September 9, 2022, at Templeton Funeral Home, with Bro. Kurt Speece officiating. Burial followed in Grandview Cemetery.

Templeton Funeral Home, Paris, Illinois, was in charge of the arrangements.
