Private graveside services for Knox Robert Melching, the six-day-old son of Bobby and Martha Melching of Smithville, were held  at DeKalb Memorial Gardens on Feb.5.
He passed away Feb. 3 at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
He was preceded in death by paternal great-grandfathers Eldon Baker of North Loup, NE and Dean Melching of Hendersonville; paternal great-uncle Jon Baker of Ashton, NE; maternal great-grandparents Casto and Josie Puckett of Smithville; and maternal cousin Josiah Graden Kirksey of Smithville.
In addition to his parents, Knox is survived by paternal grandparents, Darren and Lori Melching of White House; paternal great-grandmothers Betty Kowalski of Loup City, NE and Marilyn Melching of Port St. Lucie, Fl; paternal great-grandmother Esther Baker of Loup City, NE; paternal aunt Melissa Melching of Cleveland; paternal uncles Brian Melching of Cookeville, Benjamin Melching and John Melching of White House; maternal grandmother Gail Kirksey of Smithville; maternal granfather, Howard (Carole Ann) Kirksey of Tullahoma; maternal great-grandmother Betty Kirksey of Murfreesboro; and maternal uncle Graden (Sabrina) and children Silas and Ella Grace Kirksey of Smithville.
