Larry D. Parsley age 68 of Knoxville went to be with his heavenly father on October 16, 2016.

 

Larry was a member of Sixth Avenue Church of God.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents Chester and Grace Cubbins Parsley and grandson Ethan Parsley age 12.

 

Survivors include his wife Judy of 48 years, son Stephen (Gina), daughter Heather (Brian), grandson, Logan Parsley age 11 and many cousins, nieces and nephews whom he loved.

 

Mr. Parsley joined the United States Air Force in 1969 and was honorably discharged in 1973. He then was hired with the Tennessee Department of Safety and worked until he retired as a Lt. in 2005. He had the honor of being part of the University of Tennessee Football Team as their security officer. He served one season with Coach Johnny Majors and multiple seasons with Coach Phillip Fulmer until his retirement in 2005. Mr. Parsley was also a residential builder in Knoxville for 30 years.

A memorial service will be held October 29, 2016 at Clicks Farragut Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 10-1 p.m. with the service to follow.

 

Dr. Don Long will be officiating.
