Mr. Lawrence Richard Daw, age 80 of Smithville, passed away Monday night, July 27, 2020 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.
He was born on June 25, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York to his parents, the late William and Ethel Davis Daw. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Esther Daw; second wife, Marion Daw; two brothers, Arthur Daw and Billy Daw; three sisters, Francis Faljean, Dorothy Daw and Marie Ponds. He was a self-employed carpenter and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Noel (William Jr.) Dowling of Smithville; son, Artie (Regena) Daw of Smithville; two grandsons, William Dowling, III and Nickolas Daw both of Smithville; two sisters, Margaret Wells and Rosalind Schroeder both of New York; two brothers, James (Daria) Daw of Smyrna and George (Rita) Daw of New York. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews also survive.
Funeral service was held on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. David Mahan and Bro. Graden Kirksey officiated with burial to following at DeKalb Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Artie Daw, Willie Dowling, Jr., Nickolas Daw, Willie Dowling, III, Joshua Chapman, and Leslie Peace.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.
