Funeral services for Leona Thomason Colwell, 71, of Liberty were held Feb.3 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Tommy Davis officiated, with burial following at Salem Cemetery.She passed away Jan.30 at NHC Healthcare Center.She was the daughter of the late Leon and May Bell Mencer Kelly.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W.W. “Chief” Thomason, Jr.She was a retired factory worker and a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church.She is survived by her husband, Maxie Colwell of Liberty; daughter, Jennifer (Dewayne) Bain of Smithville; four step-children, Bobby (Ruby) Thomason, Doyle Thomason, Patsy (Jessie) Drury, all of Smithville, and Shawn Colwell. two grandchildren, Rachel Edge and Saxon Bain; four step- grandchildren, B.J. Thomason, Clint Thomason, Michael Caldwell and Devin Drury.Pallbearers included; Shawn Colwell, Clarence T. Davenport, Nathan Thomason, B.J.
