Funeral services for Leslie Brown Alexander, 95, of Cookeville were held Jan.31 at Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Head officiated, with burial following at Crest Lawn Cemetery.Mr. Alexander died Jan. 30 at Kindred Masters Healthcare Center in Algood.He was born June 6, 1918 in DeKalb County to the late James Isaac and Alton Smith Alexander.He was of the Baptist faith and a farmer before becoming disabled. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Alexander, Billy Alexander, and Ike Alexander; sister, Dorothy Beckham.He is survived by his son, Paul Alexander of Detroit, Michigan; five grandchildren; four sisters; two brother-in-laws, Frances and husband, Jackie Rigsby, Mary Foster all of Smithville, Audry Elem of Nashville, and Nancy and husband, Bill Callwell of McMinnville.Family and friends served as pallbearers.Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home, Smithville, was in charge of arrangements.SMITHVILLE REVIEWSmithville, TNFebruary 5, 2014
