Linda Rhody Henson, 67, died Sunday April 10, 2016 at Tennova Hospice in Knoxville, Tennessee after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke. Linda was a resident of Jefferson City, Tennessee.

 

Linda is survived by her son, Kirk Henson of Knoxville, TN and daughter, Shelley Henson Daley of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, son-in-law, Marc Daley, mother Lena Robinson Rhody of Smithville, TN, brothers, Austin Rhody, Jr.of Rockwood, Jim Rhody and Randy Rhody of Smithville, sister-in-law, Nancy Rhody and Annette Rhody, special friend, Joe Sams of Dandridge, TN, nieces, Regina Brantley, Meghan Rhody, and Sarena Montgomery, and nephews, Kevin Rhody and Justin Rhody.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, Austin Rhody in 1967.

 

Linda was born April 19, 1948 in DeKalb County, Tennessee. She graduated from DeKalb County High School as valedictorian of her class. She earned Bachelors and Master’s degrees from the University of Tennessee and worked as a Special Education teacher for over 40 years with Knox and Jefferson County schools.

 

A memorial service celebrating Linda’s life will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church, 1850 Allen Ferry Rd. Smithville, Tennessee at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at DeKalb Memorial Gardens, 2700 McMinnville Highway, Smithville, Tennessee. The family will be receiving friends at Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church beginning one hour (12 noon) before the service.

 

The family also received friends in Jefferson City, Tennessee on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Jefferson City Christian Church, 1439 Hicks Road, Jefferson City, Tennessee.
