Funeral services for Lorene Meeks, 92 , of Smithville were held Jan. 27 at Chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Bro. Dan Gulley officiated, with burial following at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Cookeville.Mrs. Meeks passed away Jan. 24 at NHC Healthcare of Smithville.Mrs. Meeks was born September 21, 1921 in Star City, Arkansas, to the late Albert Jr., and Beckie Gillespie.She was a member of Smithville Church of Christ, and a cook for many years at Beverly Healthcare.She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Meeks; one sister, Mildred Thurman; one brother, Lloyd Gillespie.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and A.V. Meeks of Smithville; one grandaughter and grandson-in-law, Deborah and Michael Allen of Cookeville; one great-great grandson, Addison Allen of Cookeville; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Merle Wraalsen of Mobile, alabama, Pauline and Bob Cockrell of Monticello, Arizona; several nieces and nephews also survive.Crest Lawn Funeral Home, Cookeville, was in charge of arrangements.SMITHVILLE REVIEWSmithville, TNJanuary 29, 2014
