Funeral services for Lou Verna Redmon, 55, of Smithville were held March 10 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Dennis Wood and Bro. Mike Clayborn officiated with burial following at Whorton Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Redmon passed away March 6 at NHC Healthcare Center in Smithville. She was a member of Mt. View The Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents Marshal Andrew and Elmer Belle Jones West; husband J.P. “Dock” Redmon; grandson Kyle Robinson; two brothers Myrtis and Edwin West; four sisters Ida Margie Jones, Ruth Melton, Vilda Young and Frances Pirtle.
Survivors include her three children David (Patricia) Redmon of Smithville, Linda (Jimmy) Crawford of Smithville and Donnie (Cindy) Redmon of McMinnville; seven grandchildren Kim Taylor, Mark Robinson, Kevin Robinson, Amy Seber, Amanda McCraken, John Redmon and Andrew Redmon; four great-grandchildren Tre Taylor, Kirstie Taylor and Elizabeth Seber, Maggie Redmon; two sisters Helen Raymond of Smithville and Jo Ann Smithson of McMinnville; a brother-in-law Don Redmon of Smithville; and special caregivers Jean Bailey and Wilma Redmon of McMinnville.
Pallbearers included Daniel Seber, Bo McCracken, Tre Taylor, Kevin Robinson, John Redmon and Andrew Redmon.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel, Smithville,  was in charge of the arrangements.
